Poem by

LIAM FERNEY

Shark of Messina

This was the decade we learnt

how mobs work, what they extract.

You don’t need me to pitch that,

you’re already up to your dick in it.

Despite my tendings the holdings

come to less, but still I come to poetry.

The simplest advice: keep the things

that bring you joy. Come back to them.

Living, like Nibali on the Poggio,

again and again and again.
